HVOF Coating

We use high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) coating to create thick coatings that resist erosion, abrasion, and chemical assault. The method is entirely controllable by the fuel, material, speed, temperature, distance, and angle of deposition, resulting in a dense coating with reproducible composition, structure, and characteristics.

HVOF deposition, like any other thermal spray, is a line-of-sight method. Generally, the optimum coating characteristics are obtained when the deposition angle is near 90 degrees to the component surface. When the deposition angle is reduced to fewer than 45 degrees, substantial changes in the microstructure and characteristics of the coating occur. Nonetheless, coatings deposited at lower angles of deposition may be advantageous and are highly reducible.
